Frequently asked questions
Care instructions
Like all fine artwork, framed insects should avoid direct sunlight and extreme humidity.
Do you do custom pieces?
Yes, please contact me with your idea of a framed insect or butterfly wing jewelry and I can give you a quote.
WHERE DO I GET MY INSECTS?
My insects come from sustainable conservation farms/ranches around the world. I do not sell rare, endangered or insects recognized as unsustainable (Dragonflies, Bats, rare beetles).
HOW DOES BUTTERFLY FARMING PROTECT THE RAINFOREST?
By linking environmental stewardship and economic development, butterfly farming positively impacts threatened habitats as well as human well-being. Currently used by conservation organizations, such as the Nature Conservancy and WWF, Butterfly farming helps save rainforest habitat by providing villagers an alternative income to agricultural farming and logging, which clears tropical forest. for more info Google "butterfly farming"
HOW LONG WILL THE THEY LAST?
Since these framed insect displays are professionally made using 99% UV blocking glass (so colors won't fade) and archival mounting boards, they can potentially last forever if treated with care. Most sellers are hobbyiest and DO NOT use UV glass or use proper archival materials - -and will not last.
